I specialize in developmental and line editing for academic researchers in the social sciences, humanities, and related fields (see list below).
As an intellectual partner and expert reader, I serve as an intermediary between you and your ideal audience, making sure your work has the impact you intend. With 8+ years of full-time editing experience, my goal is to support you through the process of bringing your ideas to publication with originality and strength, refining your argument, and making sure your manuscript meets the publisher's standards for precision, logic, and rigor. I especially enjoy working with writers who believe in their work's potential to advance humanity.
With a PhD from Columbia University and a book published by Cambridge University Press, I have a deep understanding of the academic ecosystem. I have served as a reviewer and guest editor for peer-reviewed journals and helped clients publish in leading international journals. I've worked with academics, including a Nobel Prize winner, from a wide range of fields, as well as with non-profits and organizations, including the United Nations.
Originally from New Zealand, I grew up in southeast Asia, studied in the United Kingdom and United States, and currently live in France. I am committed to helping non-native English speakers communicate with confidence, clarity, and authenticity. I am comfortable with American and British language conventions.

I charge an hourly rate, which starts at €60 (~US$70)

I typically edit 1000–2000+ words an hour, depending on the type of editing required and state of the draft.
For documents under 10,000 words, I can often return edits within one week.
Depending on availability, I may be able to return your manuscript in 48 hours for an extra fee.
Your unpublished work is confidential. I do not share it, discuss it, or use it for any purpose other than your editing.
I do not use generative AI in my work. Your text is never uploaded to any AI platform. My feedback and edits come solely from my own assessment.
I encourage minimal use of AI in your text as it often flattens voice, and expert readers can detect its use.
